Flat plans

Front cover

This is my final flat plan for my front cover, inspired by other Women's Lifestyle magazine such as Company and Glamour.I have used bold colours as well as a variation of fonts to present connotations of creativity. The colour scheme presented here represents the entire magazine's style, this is coral, black and white.I have a used a young female model on the front cover to successfully appeal to the target audience.

Contents page

My contents page is a similar style to Glamour magazine; use of bright bold and capitalised mast head. However, I have incorporated some creativity into it by positioning the masthead down the side of the page. This is a simple layout for the audiences benefit, so they are able to easily read the content of the magazine in a clear structure. Additionally, I have used a large image as a background to cause the page to look more exciting and active.

Article 1 - Your Festival Survival Guide

I have taken inspiration from Company magazine when focusing on the creative layout. Also, I have considered the article content by relating all of my images to the article topic; the daisy border relates to the summer theme, as well as the orange/ coral colour scheme also being summer related. I have organised the article formally and clearly, taking the audience into consideration, by numbering each paragraph with a header, summarising each individual paragraph. The tone of the article is slightly informal to appeal to the target audience.

Article 2 - False Faces and Phoney Figures

This article contains a more serious register, due to the serious topic and content; by doing this I am taking my audience into consideration. There is as larger text to image ratio as there is more factual information to be contained as apposed to the Festival article which presents more fun connotations. I have used creative imagery within this article, as the model has a cardboard box on her head (as a metaphor that photoshop hides who people really are) with the Photoshop logo on the front, in order to present a brief idea to the audience of what the article is about.
